One of the more popular forms of communication most widely used today is the cellular phone. And although they are extremely affordable, can they replace a landline as your main form of communication? Cell phones surely are extremely efficient to use, but can they replace the landline entirely? Here are some instances you might want to think about before you decide to go without a hard line.
Of course you probably know about the national do not call list. If you get rid of your hardline you probably also will get rid of the telemarketers too. But please be careful about who you give your cell phone number too. Although you can change it, you will have to notify your friends and family. And that can be a pain.
What If The Power Goes Out
If you lose your cell phone due to a battery that has completely lost its charge, thats it for phone calls. A landline never needs a charge and even if the power goes out, you can still make important phone calls. And many intrusion alarms require a landline to operate. You might actually be forced to keep one in the above case.
Receptions in Your Apartment Home
Before you sign your apartment lease and move in, make a few phones calls and hold a conversation for at lease a minute or so in each room. Sometimes receptions can fade or cut out completely. If your phone signal does deteriorate, keeping a landline might be mandatory.
And remember that you will need to be more concerned with your cell phone habits if you want to go it alone. Keeping it charged will be mandatory. So buy an extra charger. Also make sure you have plenty of minutes. If you go over, it might cost you more than your landline does.
