How to Move Out of Your Apartment Home

Is your apartment lease coming to an end? Well there are two ways you can move out of your apartment home. You can either move out the right way or the wrong way. Yes there actually is a checklist or time line you can use to ensure everything can go smoothly. Read on to see how you can save yourself any unneeded headaches and frustration when you move out.
Be sure and read your apartment leasing contract. It will specify the number of days you will need to provide before you can actually move out. Just because you signed a one year lease does not mean that it is just for 12 months. If your community requires that you provide a 60 day notice, you will need to provide it in writing. Oral notice won't be good enough. Be sure its in writing. And you will want to hand it over to the community manager or landlord. Remember if you don't give the proper move out notice, you may have to stay in your apartment home a little longer.
Clean Your Apartment Home
We recommend that you hire a professional cleaning service to bring your apartment home back into move-in shape. A great idea is to ask your apartment community who they use. There is nothing wrong with cleaning it yourself. However, if the community cannot simply hand over the keys to the next tenant, cleaning fees will be assessed. And you probably want your entire deposit back in full.
Apartment Walk-Through
Try a leave a day or two early. And remember to schedule a walk-through with a representative from your apartment home. They will be able to tell you if any additional charges will be assessed. This will give you some time to may any necessary repairs.
